Geoff's new O-16.5 Welsh harbour layout
Hi everyone.
Here are some pics of progress on my 7mm scale railway. The flour mill is nearly complete, the two external lamps are wired in as is a smoke generator atop the stack from the boiler room. The model is loosely based on the steam powered flour mill that used to be in Porthmadog. The hoist is hand powered but easy to use because it is self-raising flour!
The frontage view is looking along “Station Road’ with cottages planned opposite the station building - both in cardboard as mock-ups to gauge size, etc.
The slate shed on the quayside is the next building under construction, with the engine shed to follow on, again a cardboard mock-up.
There are two “Clyde Puffers” [still under construction] at the quayside are card low relief models having been scaled up from a 4mm card kit, off loading general merchandise and timber and awaiting loading with slate.
The track is all wired up together with the control panel and trains run nicely.
