The Ten Laws for Narrow Gauge Modellers.
1. Boreham’s Law.
After the last 12BA screws have been removed from the cab of a model locomotive it will be discovered that it is the boiler that should have been removed.
2. Newham’s Law.
When you drop a small component part on the floor, the likelihood of finding it is inversely proportional to the length of time it took to make.
3. Clubman’s Law.
The probability of a model failing to work is directly proportional to the number and importance of the people watching the test.
4. Baker’s Law.
After a model has been correctly assembled, extra components will be found on the bench.
5. Harris’ Law.
Any wire or tube cut to length will be too short.
6. Duckhunter’s Law.
Once a model is fouled up, anything done to improve it only makes it worse.
7. Kimber’s Law.
Everyone has a model that never got started.
8. Jenkin’s Law.
A model will always fall so as to do the most damage to itself.
9. Bradwell’s Law.
It jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway,
10. Boyd’s Law.
After years of research have been written up proving something does not exist, a photograph will be found proving it does.
Note: All names are fictitious, any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely intentional.
